BELLCOURT LAND CO. BROCHURE, CIRCA 1906

Bellcourt Civic Association recently acquired a brochure created by Bellcourt Land Co. to advertise its new development, situated just "two blocks north of the station at Bayside." Lots were approximately 20x40 and priced at $200 to $500 each, depending on location; purchasers had to buy a minimum of two lots. The text mentions the Pennsylvania-Long Island terminals and tunnels, which were at the time slated for completion in 1908 (they actually opened in 1910). While the brochure is undated, on March 4, 1906, The New York Times reported that 250 lots at Bellcourt, Bayside, were sold in the previous month, so this brochure was probably printed no later than 1906.
